Today’s deal is Three Hour Nordic Pole Walking Experience, Lunch, Refreshments & Pole Hire @ Naturezones, Blackwater, for only £42.00
Nordic pole walking is a workout that, when done properly, exercises 80 percent of your muscles.
It’s low impact by nature, it’s fun to do, and it keeps you outdoors, making it an ideal form of exercise for anyone.
This form of exercise originated in Finland, and it has long been popular throughout Scandinavia. Often used for cross-country ski training in the off-season, Nordic pole walking is now popular with people all over the world as a simple-yet-effective form of exercise.
Naturezones – the Wildlife Education Centre and 10-acre Nature Reserve at Blackwater – are delighted to be offering the activity.
They launched Nordic pole walking sessions for the over 60’s last May, before extending it to the over 50’s. Naturezones have since helped train over 50 people – including a 91-year-old!
Now they are delighted to open up sessions and promote their Nordic Pole Walking Experience via TPIW.
This Three Hour package – deal price £42.00 – includes:
This package is perfect for new or inexperienced Nordic pole walkers aged from 18-years-old and up.
Nordic pole walking turns a simple walk into a full-body workout by incorporating the upper body and core muscles to a much greater degree.
Pole walking uses up to 60% more muscles than other exercises and burns up to 900 calories per hour – compared to just 240 calories per hour for regular walking or 440 calories for an aerobics class.
It also improves your endurance, heart health, blood flow and strength. Importantly, it is also an outdoor in-the-fresh-air all-year-round activity.
Many clinical studies have shown the vast benefits of pole walking, especially for seniors and those younger and out of condition.
All you need to do is dress for the weather and wear good, comfy walking shoes. Unfortunately no dogs are allowed on the walk.
Walks take place on a Thursday or Saturday morning from 10.30am-1.30pm.
Naturezones is dedicated to helping people to help the planet. Looking after and enhancing the natural environment is good for a healthy planet and a therefore a healthy body.
By visiting you will be supporting their work, aims and objectives and helping others to learn about the Island’s very special natural environment.
