Today’s deal is Surprise Five Course Tasting Menu from Head Chef Curtis Elphick @ The Hambrough, Ventnor, for only £59.00 per person

The Hambrough is excited to announce a new kitchen team at The Hambrough Restaurant.

Talented chef Curtis Elphick has joined as Head Chef. Hailing originally from Ventnor with a solid background in the kitchen he began his training as a Commis at The Royal, moving on to The Hillside where he was thrown in at the deep end and learnt all aspects of the kitchen.

This was followed with gaining experience at some of the Island’s gastropubs which then confirmed the realisation that his real passion was for fine dining.

With this in mind he was lucky enough to secure the position as the Chef on the private 40m superyacht “Living the Dream” where he spent the summer travelling the world preparing a wide array of international cuisines for the owners and their guests.

Back on the Island, just at the right time, by chance the position came up as Head Chef at The Hambrough Restaurant.

Still carrying on with the tradition of fine dining at the heart of The Hambrough’s philosophy, Curtis is excited to be introducing menus which will be keenly priced to attract a local and visitor following and will be offering bar snacks to entice guests into the gorgeous Hambrough Lounge and Cocktail Bar and Secret Garden during the summer months.

This Surprise Five Course Taster – deal price £59.00 per person – will feature dishes such as:

  • Lobster Claw Arancini with Lobster Bisque & Chive Oil
  • Crispy Lamb Saddle with Toasted Sourdough, Garlic Yogurt, Pomegranate & Mint
  • Local Heritage Tomatoes with House Made Burrata, Fig Vinegar & Basil Sorbet
  • Slow Braised Beef Cheek with Cauliflower & Potato Puree, Chestnut Mushroom Fricassee & Beef Jus
  • Brown Butter Poached Chicken Supreme with White Truffle & Chive Croquette, Broccoli Puree & Red Wine Reduction

The Hambrough’s Food & Beverage Manager has created wine pairings to complement each Tasting Menu with a different glass of wine with each course. These are available for a supplement per person payable direct on the night.

The Fine Print

  • Check your voucher & follow instructions to book
  • The Price Is Wight Surprise Five Course Taster Voucher must be quoted & voucher number given at time of booking
  • The Tasting Menu requires the participation of the whole table (taking account of any allergies or dietary requirements)
  • Voucher is valid until 31st August 2024
  • Voucher is valid Tuesday-Saturday evenings
  • Friday & Saturday bookings latest tables are 7.00pm
  • Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance
  • Dishes will be subject to seasonal changes
  • Each voucher is for five courses per person from the Taster Menu
  • Please advise of any allergies or food intolerances at the time of booking
  • Vouchers must be presented on arrival
  • Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer
  • Not to be used for any Events or in conjunction with any Promotions
  • Voucher dates cannot be extended beyond the expiry date
