Ventnor Tee in the Park Putting Green is an award-winning family-friendly beauty spot in the heart of the coastal town.

Tucked away in a sheltered position between the sea and the south facing slopes of the Undercliff, the grounds are maintained by a dedicated team from Isle of Wight Council.

The cafe serves a wide selection of freshly-made cakes, scones, tea cakes, hot dogs, sausage rolls, sandwiches, drinks and ice creams, using tasty local Island produce wherever possible. There are also special treats for kids, such as sandwiches with chocolate spread.

The traditional putting green is a favourite with all ages.

Ventnor Park once belonged to the Hambrough family, who also owned nearby Steephill Castle. In the 1880s, the land was leased to the town and ‘gentlemen’ donated plants and shrubs, including many rare specimens.

For the 1889 carnival, the park was lit with 3,000 Chinese lanterns. Now, the park is illuminated with dramatic green floodlights every night.

The park also features table football plus giant games for children including Connect 4, Noughts & Crosses, Dominoes and Lego.

Dogs are also well catered for – with water bowls and treats available.

Concerts have been popular at the park for over 100 years – with live music being held at the bandstand throughout the summer.
